Prior to joining Vericlaim, Michael Holden, BES, FCIP was the Chief Executive Officer and President at Granite Claims Solutions Inc. since 2003. Mr. Holden served as President and Chief Executive Officer of McLarens Canada. Mr. Holden has been exposed to all sides of the insurance industry since 1985. He started with a transportation Managing General Agency and developed business opportunities among the brokerage community in Canada involving himself in sales, underwriting and claims activities and managed the operations in Central Canada. Mr. Holden joined the brokerage community in 1994 and expanded operations throughout Canada, U.S.A., South and Central America and managed the Canadian brokerage arm prior to joining McLarens Canada in 2000.
Mr. Holden’s expertise is in Sales and Marketing, Business Management and Transportation Law. He is a Member of Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters, Insurance Institute of Canada, Ontario Risk & Insurance Managers Society, Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association and Canadian Risk & Insurance Managers Society. He served as Member of Insurance Brokers Association and has given Speaking engagements and seminars throughout Canada, USA, Europe and South/Central America on insurance related topics. He has Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters Prize for top Graduating CIP in Canada in 1987. He is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP). He is a Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario (RIBO). He has Bachelor of Environmental Sciences from University of Waterloo. He is a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) (Management Major). He has Accredited Executive Financial and Managerial Accounting from York University.

Prior to joining Vericlaim, Terry Deamer, CMA, served as Chief Financial Officer for 17 years at Granite Claims Solutions, formerly McLarens Canada. As an integral part of the Granite management team he played an active role in acquisitions and the organic growth of the company that soon established a national footprint. Mr. Deamer was the co-founder of Subrogation Group Limited, a national leader in subrogation recovery services for the insurance industry. Mr. Deamer has been in the accounting profession since 1995, working in various industries, including film production, golf, software consultancy, trucking, fitness and the independent adjusting industry gaining solid financial and operational expertise. He has worked in all aspects of corporate accounting functions, earning his Certified Management Accountant accreditation.

Laurie Walker now leads Sedgwick’s third-party administration (TPA) team in Canada for property, casualty and automobile claims for foreign and domestic programs. She oversees all TPA processes and service delivery and works to develop and apply synergies that ensure key performance indicators exceed customer expectations. Walker’s knowledge and prior experience, along with her reputation in customer service and expertise in quality delivery, will ensure seamless customer and program implementations.
Walker’s primary focus is strengthening and expanding Sedgwick’s existing service lines for insurer-based businesses, broker-driven client programs and a broad range of other programs across all Canadian provinces. She is also working to introduce a disability division to ensure that customers’ insurance needs are managed with highest level of care, thus enhancing the claims experience.
Walker has worked in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years and since 2000 has been in the independent adjusting market managing large accident benefit losses. She has earned recognition as a TPA thought leader and established herself as an expert on benefit schemes as determined by the Ontario legislature, regularly presenting to Canadian defense counsel, the Insurance Institute of Canada, various provincial adjuster associations and insurers. Walker is a past president of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association and former editor-in-chief of the association’s magazine, WP – Without Prejudice.
Walker holds a degree in Marketing & Business Administration from Fanshawe College, a certificate in rehabilitation benefits administration from Seneca College, a teaching certificate from the Insurance Institute of Ontario and the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) professional designations.
